Sylvain Massa, owner of the domain, keeps French ancestral wine-making alive by faithfully following tradition. Each year 2,800 hours are spent harvesting the grapes by hand. French oak barrels are used during fermentation and aging. In the first stage of winemaking, Font du Broc uses ‘pigeage,’ to aid in the extraction of color, aroma, and tannins during cuvaison. Located in the South-East of the Var Region of Provence, Château La Font Du Broc benefits from the tempering affect of the sunny French Riviera Bay, as well as a rich Mediterranean Sea breeze. This ideal location lends itself to less exposure to excessive climatic changes, yielding only wines of the finest quality. Based at the edge of the volcanic and acidic soils of the Maures Mountain Range, the clay and calcareous grounds (pH 8.5) of Château La Font du Broc produce wines with a mark of distinction, while expressing the indigenous taste of this Region. The exceptional terroir allows production to go beyond normal climatic limits, yielding wines of wonderful depth and complexity with excellent balance to the taste. Working in harmony with nature to protect the environment, Sylvain Massa designated his 250 acre vineyard a nature preserve, sheltering animals from poachers, while employing organic wine making techniques. Thanks to the Mediterranean Mistral, the vines remain healthy all year long without resorting to the use of insecticides. CHATEAU LA FONT DU BROC "Château La Font Du Broc accompanies my cooking marvelously." - Alain Ducasse Deep into the lands of lavenders and olive trees, respect of traditions and pursuit of excellence brought to life a mystical and enthralling domain. Château La Font Du Broc opens its tremendous gates and takes you to an ambitious world of passion and magic. To envision such a place was pure foolishness, its achievement a striking masterpiece. OUR PHILOSOPHY RESPECT OF TRADITIONS Sylvain Massa, proprietor of the domain, keeps French ancestral wine-making alive by faithfully following traditions handed down through generations. 2800 hours are spent harvesting the grapes which are hand-selected for perfection. French oak barrels, used during fermentation and aging, aid in the first stages of wine making, as 'pigeage,' perfects the extraction of color, aroma, and tannins during cuvaison. Acidity, present without excess, gives balance while creating full, vigorous wines-an explosive freshness on the palette. The exceptionality of the terroir allows the production to go beyond the normal climatic limits, yielding wines of wonderful depth and complexity with excellent balance to the taste. RESPECT OF NATURE Working in harmony with nature to protect the environment and its inhabitants, Sylvain Massa designated his 250 acre vineyard as a natural reserve sheltering animals from poachers, while employing organic wine making techniques. THE WINES ROSE This crystalline wine offers a deliciously visual experience with its pale, pink color and light salmon glints, while its tears delicately caress the walls of the glass. A nose of strawberries with a hint of raspberries is subtle, yet charming. In the mouth, the scents previously discovered, are expressed with more intensity. At first, this wine is powerful and complex before tapering off to a refreshing and fruity taste offering floral and mineral nuances.
